PNG is lossless, and it stays that way: each 8-bit image's pixels are placed in the PDF exactly, compressed without loss rather than turned into JPEG, so small text stays crisp. Transparent areas let the page color show through, white unless you pick another with the background swatch. For screenshots, Fit to image makes each page the size of its picture, and a margin of 0 removes the border altogether. How to convert PNG to PDF

  1. Drop the PNGs The drop area asks for PNG images; screenshots straight from your desktop or phone work as they are. Each one becomes a row in the page list.
  2. Order the pages Drag the rows, or use the arrow buttons, until the list reads in the order the PDF should.
  3. Size the pages Keep Letter for a printable document, or choose Fit to image and set the margin to 0 so each page is exactly one screenshot with no border.
  4. Pick the page color Transparent parts of a PNG show the background swatch, white to start. Change it if the images are meant to sit on a dark or colored page.
  5. Build and save Press Build PDF, then Download PDF. The file is named file4edit.pdf unless you type another name in the File name field.

PNG to PDF converter: common questions

Does PNG to PDF lose quality?

No, for an ordinary 8-bit PNG: its pixels are stored in the PDF with lossless compression, so text and edges look exactly as they did in the image. A 16-bit PNG is reduced to 8 bits per channel.

How do I turn a long scrolling screenshot into a PDF?

Choose Fit to image so the page takes the screenshot's shape. A PDF page cannot be taller than 200 inches, so an extremely long capture is shown smaller on its page, still at full resolution.

What happens to transparency?

It stays transparent in the PDF, so the page background color shows through wherever the PNG is clear.

Why is my PDF so large?
