Terms of service
These terms cover your use of File4Edit. In short: the tools are free and provided as-is, your files are processed in your browser and never uploaded, and you are responsible for the files you work on.
Accepting these terms
By using File4Edit, meaning the website at file4edit.com and the tools on it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
The service
File4Edit is a free set of image and PDF tools that run in your web browser. There is no account and no charge. We may add, change or remove tools, or suspend the site, at any time and without notice.
The tools do their work on your own device, so what they can do depends on your browser and your hardware. Some formats cannot be saved in some browsers, and very large files may not fit in your device’s memory.
Your files and your content
Files you open in File4Edit are processed in your browser and never uploaded to us. We do not receive or store them, and we claim no rights in them or in the files you make with the tools. How the site handles the little information it does record is described in the privacy policy.
You are responsible for the files you process and for what you do with the results. Only use files you have the right to use, and keep your own copies: the tools write new files rather than changing your originals, and we cannot recover anything for you.
Acceptable use
Use File4Edit only for lawful purposes. Do not use it to infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, to process material that is illegal where you are, or to interfere with the site, for example by attacking it, overloading it or trying to get into the private admin area.
Intellectual property
The File4Edit name, logo, site design and code belong to File4Edit’s operator, and these terms do not give you any right to use the name or logo. Parts of the site are built on open-source libraries, which remain under their own licenses.
You own the files you make with the tools.
No warranty
File4Edit is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise that the tools will be free of errors, that results will meet your needs, or that the site will always be available. Check important output before you rely on it.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, File4Edit and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits or business, arising from your use of the site or the tools. Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim about it is limited to one hundred US dollars.
Some states and countries do not allow certain warranties to be excluded or liability to be limited, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it last changed. If you keep using File4Edit after a change, you accept the updated terms.
