Questions, bug reports and ideas come here. This form is the one part of File4Edit that sends anything to a server, and only when you press Send. It can't carry a file: every tool runs on your own device.

Every tool on File4Edit runs in your browser and sends nothing. This form is the single exception, and it only sends when you press Send: what you typed, over HTTPS, to the server that runs this site, which keeps it in the site’s own database. It is not passed to an email service, a form provider or anyone else.

What is kept

Your name, if you give one, and your email address, so a reply can reach you.
The topic you chose and the message itself.
The time it arrived.
A keyed hash of your connection’s address — for an IPv6 address, of its network half only — used only to stop one connection flooding the inbox. It cannot be read back as an address without the site’s secret key, is never shown in the inbox, and is erased after 30 days.

For how long

Messages are deleted 180 days after they arrive, or sooner if they are deleted from the inbox. They are not added to a mailing list or passed to anyone.

Files

Files are never uploaded, and this form cannot carry one. There is no attachment button because there is nowhere for a file to go. If a tool gets an image wrong, describe it — the format, the dimensions, what you expected — rather than sending it.

Can I attach a file to a message?

No. The form has no attachment field, and the server has nowhere to put one, because File4Edit never uploads anything you edit. If a tool mishandles an image, describe the format, the dimensions and what you expected instead.

What happens to my message after I send it?

It is stored in the site's own database, which Cloudflare hosts, and read in the site's admin inbox. It is not sent through an email service, added to a mailing list or shared with anyone, and it is deleted 180 days after it arrives, or sooner if it is deleted from the inbox.

Why does the form ask for my email address?

It is the only way to reply to you, and it is not used for anything else.

How do you stop spam without tracking me?

The server counts messages per connection using a keyed hash of your network address, never the address itself, and erases the hash after 30 days. There is no CAPTCHA, no cookie and no third-party script.
