How a PDF page is turned
Rotate PDF opens Organize PDF pages with the rotation controls on top. Two buttons above the grid turn every page a quarter turn left or right, and each thumbnail has its own pair for the one page that went in upside down. The thumbnails turn as you press, so you can check the whole document before you save it.
A PDF stores a page's rotation as an instruction beside the page rather than in the drawing itself, and viewers apply it when they show the page. This tool writes a new copy of the document with pdf-lib and sets that instruction on each page you turned, adding your turn to any the page already had. Nothing is redrawn or recompressed, so text stays selectable and images are untouched.

How to rotate a PDF
- Open the PDF Drop one PDF on the page or browse for it. Its pages appear as a grid of thumbnails, drawn in order as they scroll into view.
- Turn every page at once If the whole document came out of the scanner sideways, press Rotate every page right or Rotate every page left, just above the grid. Each press is a quarter turn, and every thumbnail turns with it.
- Turn single pages For one page that is upside down or on its side, use the two rotate buttons under its thumbnail. The card then shows how far you have turned it, such as 90° or 180°.
- Check and save The summary headed What will be written counts the pages you rotated. Press Save PDF to download the turned document as a new file.
Rotate PDF: common questions
Is the rotation saved permanently?
Yes. The new PDF records each page's turn in the page's own rotation setting, which the PDF standard says is applied whenever the page is displayed or printed. Your original file is not changed.
Does rotating a PDF lower its quality?
No. A page is turned by an instruction stored with it rather than by redrawing it, so text stays selectable and every image keeps its exact bytes.
Can I rotate just one page of a PDF?
Yes. Every thumbnail has its own rotate left and rotate right buttons, so page 3 can turn while the rest stay put. The two buttons above the grid are for turning every page at once.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
No. A PDF that needs a password to open is refused with a message saying so. Remove the password in the program that made it, then drop it here again.
